Nurses and midwives EBA staff update

St Vincent's Private Hospitals Melbourne

St Vincent's has been working with the ANMF on a new EBA offer. We shared the details of that offer in a Town Hall on Thursday 13 February.


Based on what we've heard from you, we are responding

Extra pay • More allowances • Extra staff


→ An 11.5% pay increase for everyone.

Extra annual leave for part time staff.

→ A new Enrolled Nurse Advanced role.

 Addressing workload with extra staff for key areas.

→ An even bigger pay increase for our RN 1s to 4s.

→ New formalised escalation triggers to respond to staffing issues in real time.

• NEW on call recall allowance

• NEW Enrolled Nurse advanced role 

• INCREASED paid partner leave from 2 to 3 weeks.

• INCREASED compassionate leave

• INCREASED night duty allowance (+10%)

• INCREASE family & domestic leave increase (10 days to 20 days)

• NEW delegates leave

• NEW lead apron allowance $9 indexed for each shift or part thereof from 1 July 2025.

• NEW phone on call pay

• NEW travel payment for recalled staff

• NEW casual shifts whilst on parental leave

• NEW Clinical Nurse Specialist experience requirement decreased from 9 to 4 years

• NEW vehicle allowance for on call

• NEW nursing consultative committee


And EXTRA Pay

• A 11.5% pay increase

• And even bigger pay increases for RN 1-4


Better managing workload pressures

Addressing workload with extra staff for key areas

New additional allocated staffing to respond to staffing issues in real time and a Nursing & Midwives Consultative Committee

Formalisation of the escalation path to manage issues faster

• Creating an extra 19 shifts, per week in key areas in Instalment 1, an extra 12 shifts, per week in key areas in Instalment 2.
