Biography
Associate Professor Doug Fenton-Lee is an experienced upper gastrointestinal surgeon performing a wide variety of operations on the oesophagus, stomach, gall bladder and biliary tract, liver, pancreas and abdominal wall.
In addition to his work in upper GI surgery, Doug performs laparoscopic hernia repairs and endoscopy — including endoscopic mucosal resection and radiofrequency ablation of Barrett’s oesophagus, colonoscopy and ERCP. He was an early adopter of the total extra-peritoneal (TEP) inguinal hernia repair and has performed over 3000 of these procedures.He has been performing bariatric surgery since 1998, and offers laparoscopic adjustable gastric band placement or laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy according to individual requirements.
Doug has over 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals, and has active research interests in cancer surgery and gastro-oesophageal reflux in lung transplant recipients.
