Biography

A/Prof Susan Tomlinson is staff specialist in neurology at St Vincent's Public Hospital, Sydney, Chairman of the Department of Neurology at St Vincent's Private Hospital, Sydney.

A/Prof Tomlinson has been connected to the St Vincent's Campus for 20 years, having undertaken her physician training and initial neurology training here. She subsequently achieved a position at the National Hospital for Neurology (Queen Square) and the Institute of Neurology, UCL, London where she undertook a clinical and research fellowship.

During this time she received her PhD with the University of Sydney in genetic neurological ion channel disorders. Since her return from the UK, Dr Tomlinson has held clinical and research positions; completing an NHMRC Early Career Fellowship the University of Sydney and serving as Director of Physician Training at St Vincent's General Hospital for 3 years.

Her current appointments include Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Notre Dame. She continues to undertake clinical research in headache and genetic neurological conditions. A/Prof Tomlinson was the recipient of Brain Foundation grant funding in 2016.
