Biography

Dr Alex McLellan is a Melbourne-based cardiologist and electrophysiologist with expertise in all aspects of arrhythmia management.

Dr McLellan is an experienced cardiologist and electrophysiologist proficient in complex ablation procedures such as AF and VT ablation, and cardiac pacing, including the use of biventricular devices and defibrillator implants.

Alex graduated from the University of Sydney in 2005 and completed his cardiology training at the Alfred Hospital. He then completed a combined PhD and clinical fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology and device implementation at the Alfred and Royal Melbourne Hospitals. To further his training, Alex then travelled to the UK to undertake a post-doctoral fellowship in complex ablation and pacing techniques at the largest specialised cardiovascular centre in Europe — Barts Heart Centre in London.

Alex is involved in research to improve arrhythmia management and ablation outcomes. He has published extensively as well as receiving national and international awards for his research into cardiac arrhythmias.
