Biography
Dr Darren Chen is an experienced orthopaedic surgeon specialising in surgery of the knee. He performs a high volume of both minimally invasive knee surgery and complex revision surgery annually, incorporating the latest technological advances in order to deliver optimal results.
Dr Chen has special interests in knee replacement (minimally invasive and robotic-assisted), ligament reconstruction, and arthroscopic surgery of the ACL and meniscus.He graduated with honours from the University of Sydney and completed his specialist orthopaedics training to become a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2004. Dr Chen subsequently undertook further fellowship training internationally in lower limb adult reconstructive surgery, arthroplasty and arthroscopic knee reconstruction at Canada’s Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Harvard Medical School in Boston, and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, USA respectively.
He is actively involved in clinical research and is the founding partner and Managing Director of Sydney Knee Specialists.
