Biography
Dr David Schlect is a radiation oncologist with a particular interest in stereotactic radiosurgery, benign conditions, rare tumours and sarcoma, as well as neurological, lung and skin cancers.
Dr David Schlect is a radiation oncologist who advocates multidisciplinary care and is particularly mindful of the need for psychological support throughout one of the hardest treatment experiences. He has a particular interest in stereotactic radiosurgery, benign tumours, rare tumours and sarcoma, as well as neurological, lung, and skin cancers.David graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 1976, before going on to complete his specialist training in radiation oncology at both St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney and the Royal Marsden Hospital in London.
David returned to Brisbane in 1990 and commenced private practice, and has now been supporting the Brisbane community for almost 30 years. During this time he has introduced stereotactic radiosurgery to Queensland, co-authored a book on the importance of hope in a person’s cancer journey, and has been Board Member for the Newro Foundation.
