Biography

Dr Emma Flanagan is a gastroenterologist and clinician researcher who combines private practice with a public hospital appointment at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne.

Emma is an expert in the optimal management of inflammatory bowel disease during pregnancy. Having completed a PhD focusing on inflammatory bowel disease in pregnancy, she continues to lead clinical research as the head of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Pregnancy clinic at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. 

More broadly, Emma provides holistic and patient-centered care for a range of gastrointestinal conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease and functional gut disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome.
