Biography

Dr Ian Matthews is a cardiologist with a special interest in cardiac device management, syncope and arrhythmia management.

After receiving his medical degree from the University of Queensland in 2008, Ian completed his advanced cardiology training at Monash Medical Centre, St Vincent’s Hospital, and Ballarat Hospital. He then completed an additional 2-year fellowship in cardiac implantable electronic devices at St Vincent’s in 2017, and received extensive training on the implantation of pacemakers, defibrillators and loop recorders, as well as cardiac resynchronisation therapy procedures.
