Biography

Joel Sadowsky is a Melbourne-based neonatal pediatrician who has looked after newborns since 1998. His expertise, combined with his gentle and calming nature, helps both the parents and baby during what can be a very stressful time.

Dr Joel Sadowky is a paediatrician with extensive experience in helping babies who are sick or premature and require specialised care.

Joel completed his medical degree in South Africa and then undertook 3 years working in England in paediatrics. He then moved to New Zealand and on completion of his general paediatric training in Auckland, he relocated to Australia and completed his advanced neonatal training at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. During this time, he developed additional skills in performing neonatal ultrasound and echocardiography.

Joel decided to move back to NZ and spent 8 years practicing in Wellington before again moving back to Australia and practicing at the Mercy Hospital and the Royal Women’s Hospitals. Now in private practice, Joel combines his ongoing care of babies with teaching and training medical and nursing staff to provide optimum care for newborns.
