Biography

Dr Linson John Alapatt is a General Physician and Geriatrician specialising in Geriatrics and Rehabilitation.

He became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) in 2018 having completed Geriatric training at Princess Alexandra and Gold Coast University Hospitals. Dr Alapatt undertook his primary medical training in India and worked in the UK before relocating to Australia in 2007.  His passion is to deliver holistic care for elderly patients working together with their General Practitioners, family and community care providers.
 
Dr Alapatt has a multidisciplinary health care approach for older adults addressing all aspects of Geriatric medicine. He has special interest in the diagnosis and management of Dementia, Comprehensive Geriatric assessments of the frail elderly, appropriate deprescribing, Falls and Osteoporosis and peri-operative management with Orthogeriatric model of care.
 
Dr Alapatt is an accredited supervisor for the RACP and is involved in registrar training at multiple levels. In addition, he is an active member of ANZSGM and IMSANZ and a facilitator for RACP for Supervisor’s professional development workshops. He is also a Senior lecturer at the School of Medicine, University of Queensland, being involved with medical student teaching and examinations.
