Biography

Dr Lisa Walters is an interventional cardiologist with a particular interest in transoesophageal, stress, and transthoracic echocardiography.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Queensland, Dr Walters went on to complete her specialist cardiology training at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s and Prince Charles Hospitals. Pursuing further training, she travelled to the USA to undertake a fellowship in echocardiography at the University of California, and a fellowship in heart failure and cardiac transplantation at Harvard Medical School’s Massachusetts General Hospital.

Since returning to Brisbane, Lisa has co-founded a successful cardiology practice and consults at hospitals across the city. She is also actively involved in teaching the future generation of cardiologists and holds an appointment as Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland.
