Biography
Dr Mohammed Awad is a neurosurgeon and spinal surgeon who provides individualised care that employs the latest state-of-the-art techniques in order to minimise recovery time.
He specialises in the treatment of brain tumours and complex spinal surgery, including the use of robot-assisted, and computer- and ultrasound-guided techniques.After graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Sheffield in 2004, Mohammed completed his basic medical and specialist neurosurgical training at some of the leading neurosurgical centres across the UK. Upon moving to Australia, he undertook two further sub-specialty fellowships at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in neuro-oncology and spinal surgery.
Mohammed is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a Fellow the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and is actively involved in educating colleagues nationally and internationally on neuro-oncology and minimally invasive spinal surgery.
