Biography
Dr Nikhil Sapre is a Urological Surgeon and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS Urol). After finishing medical school in New Zealand, he completed his urological training in Queensland and Victoria.
During his training, he also completed a PhD in developing better molecular diagnostic strategies for bladder and prostate cancers from the University of Melbourne. The final year of his training was spent in New South Wales specializing in open and advanced laparoscopic surgery for urological cancers.He then travelled to Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London, United Kingdom for a year to undertake high volume fellowship training in uro-oncology, robotic surgery for prostate and kidney conditions and LASER prostate surgery for benign prostate enlargement. He is excited about bringing this skill-set to serve the urological needs of patients in regional Queensland.
Nikhil’s main clinical expertise and interests include:
- Diagnosis and management of urological cancers
- Robotic surgery for prostate and kidney conditions including robotic prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy and pyeloplasty
- Minimally invasive treatments and LASER surgery for benign prostate enlargement
- Management of kidney and ureteric stones
Nikhil was the first urology trainee in Toowoomba in 2014 and enjoyed working and living in this community so much that he chose to make it his home after finishing his training. His is married with two young kids and his wife is a GP practicing locally in Toowoomba.
