Biography

Dr. Peter Wilson graduated from the University of Sydney in 2005 and has worked in multiple neurosurgical units as a registrar, training with over 30 neurosurgeons before finishing his formal training at the beginning of 2015.

By working with such a variety of mentors, he has been able to learn the nuances of clinical decision making and operative techniques for a broad range of pathologies to be able to provide the highest level of care for his patients. During his training, he completed a Masters of Surgery by research at the University of New South Wales and a Master of Surgery at Macquarie University.

Following conclusion of his neurosurgical training in 2015, he initially worked as a locum consultant neurosurgeon at the Prince of Wales Public Hospital prior to embarking on post-fellowship training. He completed a complex spinal fellowship in Adelaide, focusing on trauma, correction of spinal deformity, and minimally invasive spinal surgery. He then travelled to Birmingham in the United Kingdom for further experience in stereotactic radiosurgery and its applications. Finally, in 2016 he was able to take an opportunity to learn from one of the world leaders in endoscopic skull base surgery, Dr Theodore Schwartz, at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York, USA before returning to a full time appointment at Prince of Wales Public and Private Hospitals.

Peter is committed to maintaining the highest level of clinical and operative care of his patients, and is constantly striving to improve his practice by perpetually evolving in pace with the latest in medical advancements.
