Biography

Dr Raymond Stanton is a Urologist based in Wagga Wagga who manages a broad range of general urological issues. He has a special interest in prostate, bladder and renal cancers, as well as BPH/voiding dysfunction and renal tract calculi. He lives and works in the area and has provided elective and emergency on call services for the area since his arrival to the Riverina in 2007.

Dr Raymond Stanton completed his urology training in NSW and trained at various large metropolitan centres. He undertook a further year of training in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2006 and 2007, learning advanced techniques in open and laparoscopic urological oncological procedures, as well as major pelvic oncology.

Dr Stanton has been responsible for introducing several advancements in the local urological service provide, including laser prostate surgery, transperineal prostate biopsies and a number of endourological advancements.  

Dr Stanton regularly attends scientific meetings held by the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand, as well as the annual meetings of the Europeon Association of Urology and the American Urological Association. His attendance at these meetings and his membership of all three associations gives him access to up to date knowledge and resources to ensure that the management of his patients is contemporary and consistent with best practice. 

He has been a Senior Lecturer involved in education of medical students for University of New South Wales, Australian National University and University of Notre Dame. 

Dr Stanton operates at St Vincent's Private Community Hospital Griffith, Young District Hospital and several locations in Wagga Wagga including, Calvary Hospital, Riverina Day Surgery and Wagga Wagga Base Hospital. Dr Stanton also has a conjoint appointment at the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse in Sydney, where he offers advanced robotic procedures to patients.
