Dr Richard Ross is a fully qualified Specialist Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon, Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS), Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
After eleven years of training in major centres in Melbourne, Richard gained subspecialty fellowship training in complex skin cancer surgery and head and neck reconstruction at one of the highest volume centres in the world. In addition, Richard has also undertaken post-fellowship clinical observerships in rhinoplasty and breast surgery both in Australia and Italy.Richard attained his PhD in surgical anatomy from the University of Melbourne in 2016 and continues to collaborate on widely cited research into surgical anatomy for facial aesthetic procedures. He has published numerous academic works in highly regarded international journals, including The Lancet and has been a reviewer for Head and Neck and Annals of Plastic Surgery journals. He is an active member of multidisciplinary head and neck and skin cancer teams and complex case conferences in a number of tertiary centres around Melbourne.
Richard has a broad field of Plastic Surgery training, with a firm belief that both aesthetic and reconstructive principles must co-exist to achieve the best results for patients. He regularly performs facial plastic surgery, post-weight loss body contouring and breast reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. He is an active member of the breast reconstruction and head and neck reconstructive surgery service at Western Health and breast reconstruction service at Peninsula Health.

Richard is available for GP advice and discussion and will facilitate appointments and surgery at short notice for clinically urgent cases.
