Biography

Dr Rick Abraham is a highly qualified medical oncologist with a special interest in treatments for cancers of the breast, lung, and gastrointestinal tract, as well as urological malignancies.

Dr Abraham graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from The University of Queensland in 1985. After completing his medical oncology training, he undertook a clinical research fellowship in the breast cancer program at the University of Toronto, investigating high dose chemotherapy treatment for high-risk patients and metastatic disease. After completing a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology where he focussed on hereditary ovarian cancer outcomes following chemotherapy, Dr Abraham returned to Brisbane as a staff specialist in oncology.

Dr Abraham is actively involved in educating medical students, has been lead investigator in a number of international trials, and is a past chair of the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia Lung Cancer Group. He has been practising privately since 2012.
