After being awarded his Doctor of Medicine in 2004, Rouzbeh undertook his specialist general surgery training in Queensland, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons soon after. During his general surgery training, Rouzbeh completed a rural placement in Toowoomba where he and his family fell in love with the town and its sense of community.

Rouzbeh was a consultant at the Royal Hobart Hospital in Tasmania before taking the opportunity to return to Toowoomba to begin his private practice and raise his young family.
