Biography

Mr. Nicholas Smith is a General and Colorectal Surgeon with a specialty interest in colon and rectal cancer, operative management of inflammatory bowel disease, colonoscopy, and benign anal disease.

Mr. Smith undertook his primary medical education at the University of Sydney, followed by the completion of general surgical training at Liverpool and St. George Hospitals in New South Wales.  He qualified for admission to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) in 2016 and subsequently undertook additional fellowship training in General Surgery (Wollongong Hospital, NSW) as well as research fellowships at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Victoria specializing in advanced colorectal malignancy. 

He further undertook a year of clinical fellowship training in Colorectal Surgery at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic in the USA, remaining at the Cleveland Clinic for a further 2 years of clinical practice before returning to Australia.
