Biography

Mr Peter Maloney is a Melbourne-based hand surgeon who works at St Vincent’s Private Hospital in Fitzroy and Kew.

Mr Maloney’s main consulting rooms are located within the St Vincent’s Precinct in Fitzroy, he also consults at Mulgrave and Bendigo. Peter graduated medicine at the University of Queensland in 1997 and chose orthopaedic surgery as his specialty. He completed a hand fellowship with the Victorian Hand Surgery Associates in 2006 and in 2007 with the Sydney Hand Unit, continuing as a locum there in 2008.

Peter was then accepted for a hand and peripheral nerve fellowship with Professor C. Oberlin in Paris, France from 2008 – 2009. He then returned to Australia in 2009 to open his private practice and join the Victorian Hand Surgery Associates.

Peter is a member of the Australian Hand Surgery Society and is involved in continuing medical education programs through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He travels annually to Madang and Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea to take part in the Interplast hand surgery missions. He is a surgical board member of Interplast.
