Breastfeeding clinic
Our breastfeeding specialists are all International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) and are available to assist you when learning to breastfeed your baby on the ward and to troubleshoot any issues which may arise.
Breastfeeding support from a breastfeeding specialist
We encourage all new mothers to breastfed and all our midwives are trained to assist you. An IBLCLC-qualified consultant is available if required during your hospital stay to offer professional assistance on your care and the baby’s feeding technique.
We encourage breastfeeding in line with the World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines, while still supporting women who choose to bottle-feed or for those babies where formula is medically indicated.
After your stay
You can utilise the breastfeeding clinic until your baby is 6 months of age. Free one-on-one consultations are available five days a week face to face or via telehealth or phone. There is no cost to you. Call the clinic directly on 03 9411 7797 to book.
